Devin Booker made two free throws with 2.4 seconds left as the Phoenix Suns edged the Portland Trail Blazers, 118-117, on Thursday night, May 13 (Friday, May 14, Manila time).
Chris Paul recorded 26 points and 7 assists, and Mikal Bridges added 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Suns (49-21), who moved one game behind the Utah Jazz in the battle for the Western Conference s top seed.
Damian Lillard scored 24 of his 41 points in the fourth quarter for the Trail Blazers, who had a five-game winning streak snapped and failed to clinch a main-draw playoff spot.

LeBron James is expected to make his return to the floor when the Los Angeles Lakers host the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night, May 12 (Thursday, May 13, Manila time).
James has missed 25 of the past 27 games due to a right ankle injury, including Tuesday night s 101-99 overtime escape against the visiting New York Knicks.
James considered returning for the game against the Knicks but decided Tuesday to take one more day to allow the ankle to heal. He initially hurt it March 20 when he suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Atlanta Hawks.

Brooklyn Nets guard Kyrie Irving left the game against the Chicago Bulls early in the third quarter with a facial contusion after a hard collision under the basket.
With about 10 minutes remaining, Irving took a hard shot to the face from Chicago center Nikola Vucevic s left elbow as both players jockeyed for a rebound off a missed three-pointer by Blake Griffin.
Irving was down on the sideline for a few minutes before walking to the locker room.
Before departing, Irving scored 13 points on 4-of-10 shooting in just over 20 minutes.
