The Northwest Territories is no longer requiring masks to be worn in public places in Yellowknife and three other communities.
The territory says it revoked the public health order effective this afternoon.
The chief public health officer kept the order in place for two weeks after a COVID-19 outbreak at N.J. Macpherson School in Yellowknife was officially declared over.
The mother of two children who attend N.J. Macpherson School in Yellowknife is speaking out after another parent came forward describing similar frustrations around a communication breakdown between families and health officials over isolation requirements.

Rob Warburton had to isolate with his family because of the COVID-19 outbreak at N.J. Macpherson School. He said he trusts the testing being done and is not worried about his children returning to school on Monday. I don t feel it s any more of a risk than it was before sending my kids back to school after we get the all clear, he said. I m comfortable sending my kids back.
For Bedingfield, the situation has been heartbreaking, frustrating and mentally exhausting. Thankfully, she said, her two other children eight and two tested negative, as did she and her partner, who are vaccinated.
But working from home while safely caring for an ill child, homeschooling, constantly disinfecting, and keeping a toddler entertained has been well, you can imagine. I don t think I ve ever been more furious in my life over this whole situation, said Bedingfield. But I think it s amazing what you can do when you know you re not alone, like there s other families who are in the same boat. He is pretty anxious about the whole thing
BehchokÇ«Ì schools close, more than 1,000 close contacts linked to Yellowknife school outbreak
Health officials in the Northwest Territories say more than 1,000 people have been identified as close contacts in connection to the outbreak at N.J. Macpherson School in Yellowknife. There are new restrictions in BehchokÇ«Ì and the TÅı̨chÇ«Â Community Services Agency has closed the schools in the community.
