Mike Smaggus said real estate agent Sarah Sullivan took his bichon frise, Snoopy, under the pretense of dog-sitting for a night last spring, but instead rehomed the animal. Halifax Realtor Faces Fines and Suspension In Dog-Theft Case

A Halifax realtor who allegedly stole a dog from the tenant of a property she was showing has been slapped with a suspension and fines. The Nova Scotia Real Estate Commission Registrar says Sarah Sullivan of Century 21 Trident Realty faces a one-month license suspension effective until February 15th, and $2,500 in fines. Their decision, released on January 16th, says the violations are related to a complaint from a tenant in a property visited by Sullivan and a prospective buyer. The tenant alleges that Sullivan approached them about selling their dog, which they declined. She then offered to take the dog while the tenant moved, but the animal was never returned.
