Police on Friday found Phillip Jennings stabbed in his second floor apartment on Oration Street in Newark, the prosecutor’s office said. Officers went to the residence to check on Jennings, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Prosecutors did not disclose a possible motive for the killing or detail what led to the charges against the man’s son. The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force continued to investigate, authorities said.
