Former Town boss Wellens confirmed as new Doncaster manager RICHIE Wellens has been named as the new manager of Doncaster Rovers. The former Town boss had been the hopeful target of many a Swindon fan as the club continues its search for John Sheridan s replacement. But the 41-year-old has returned to the club where he spent two spells as a player and is revered as a popular figure among Rovers fans. According to the Doncaster Free Press, Wellens is thought to have signed a one-year rolling contract at the Keepmoat Stadium and will be assisted by former Town coach, Noel Hunt.
Town Confirm Jeffers Back as First-Team Coach

Town have confirmed former loan striker Franny Jeffers’s return to Portman Road as a first-team coach.
TWTD revealed yesterday that Jeffers had been at Playford Road for the previous two days finalising his move to the Blues having previously been Everton’s U23s coach.
“It’s a great opportunity for me and one I couldn’t turn down,” Jeffers told the club site. “I’m an Evertonian so it was a difficult decision to leave but Ipswich is a massive club and I’m relishing the chance to help the club get back to where it should be.
Jeffers at Playford Road For Talks

TWTD understands former Blues loanee Franny Jeffers has been at Playford Road for the last couple of days to hold talks with manager Paul Cook about joining his coaching staff.
Jeffers, currently Everton’s U23s coach, is a candidate to become one of a number of additions to Cook’s backroom team over the summer.
We understand the return of Jeffers, 40, to the club where he had a successful spell between March and May 2007, scoring four times in seven starts and two sub appearances, is still to be confirmed.
Cook has various roles to be filled over the summer among them his assistant, with his Chesterfield, Portsmouth and Wigan deputy Leam Richardson having been named the permanent boss of the Latics.
Town Confirm Chambers and Skuse Exits

Town have confirmed that skipper Luke Chambers and midfielder Cole Skuse are leaving the club this summer.
Chambers, 35, joined the Blues on a free transfer from Nottingham Forest in the summer of 2012 during Paul Jewell’s time as boss.
The centre-half or right-back went on to make 395 starts and one sub appearance for the Blues, netting 19 times, all but a handful while wearing the captain’s armband.
Skuse, also 35, joined Town from Bristol City the following summer, also on a free transfer, and made 268 starts and 10 appearances from the bench. The pair were key members of the side which reached the Championship play-offs in 2014/15.
Phil has kindly said that he will pass this on. A thread to thank Luke, Cole and Freddie for their services to town over the last few years. All 3 were key parts of our play-off season, have given the best part of their careers to Ipswich and certainly could never be accused of giving less than 100%.
