On Saturday (May 29), Poudre Fire Authority (PFA) had to rescue two kayakers, one of whom was stranded in the river. According to their Facebook post, the water was running at around 1,200 cubic feet per second.
That incident is far from this season s first rescue. On May 22, PFA rescued eight people on the river, while crews saved another two individuals earlier in the month.

According to Fort Collins Police Services, the collision happened on the 800 block of Mulberry Street, near the intersection of Riverside Avenue, just before 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 30.
In a news release, police said that a Lincoln pickup truck appeared to be traveling eastbound on Mulberry Street before crossing over to the north side of the road. When that happened, the truck hit two unoccupied vehicles, which were likely parked at a business. Those vehicles then hit the side of a building, causing significant damage. Additionally, the truck hit a gas line at a gas station, which according to police, erupted into flames, extensively damaging the truck. Poudre Fire Authority and Xcel Energy responded to the 911 call.
The Colorado Eagles are announcing some big changes as their season comes to a close: namely, a new face leading the charge.
In a press release, the Colorado Eagles made the official announcement that Brian Petrovek, formerly CEO and alternate governor for the AHL’s Stockton Heat, will be the new president and alternate governor of the Colorado Eagles.
Not only did Petrovek work with Stockton Heat but his resume also includes time with Team USA during the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, the United State s Men s Team at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games, and the NHL s New Jersey Devils, to name a few notable spots. He was also inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame with Team USA in 2016.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife had been looking for this guy for a couple weeks after he took a wrong turn from the mountains and ended up on the Colorado Plains.
New Colorado Health Order: No Capacity Limits For Indoor Events
Every day I feel like restrictions are being leveled off and/or dropped completely, and today, we can start the week off with a big announcement: the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment has updated its COVID-19 public health order to end restrictions on large indoor gatherings, as well as to amend some of the rules regarding masks.
According to the CDPHE, the new order goes into effect today (June 1) will expire on July 1, and depending on how things go in terms of COVID-19 numbers, will either continue or be amended. (fingers and toes crossed things go well)
