Lead contractor GMI Construction is primed to start work on the £37m residential scheme, one of three developments Mulbury City is advancing in Manchester’s burgeoning New Cross district.
The developer won planning consent for the 12-storey project on Bendix Street last December, and a formal decision notice has now been handed down by the city council, paving the way for a start on site.
The developer’s third New Cross venture is the 73-apartment Peeler’s Yard on Goulden Street.
All three of the projects were designed by Tim Groom Architects.
GMI is to build the Oldham Road and Bendix Street schemes and both projects are expected to complete by summer 2023, according to a construction management statement prepared by the contractor.

The path is clear for the developer to start the conversion of the former Bruntwood office in Old Trafford into apartments later this month, having secured development funding from Reim Capital.
The £13m will go towards the creation of 115 apartments within the 48,000 sq ft office, which Investar Property Group bought last year for an undisclosed sum.
Developer Mandale Homes previously had consent under permitted development rights for an office-to-residential scheme converting the nine-storey Paragon House into 88 apartments.
However, Investar drew up alternative plans for the Seymour Grove building and secured approval from Trafford Council at the end of July for a larger scheme with 115 apartments.

Plans have been lodged for a 190-bed hotel in Liverpool city centre, to occupy a surface car park site between Duke Street and Parr Street.
The scheme has been designed by Tim Groom Architects on behalf of Duke Street Hotel, a vehicle linked to established Liverpool developer Iliad Group through directors David Anastasiou and Tim Molloy.
The hotel would be operated under an emerging brand called Room 2, which has two sites already, in Hammersmith and Southampton.
Taking up space on what is currently a surface car park and a 1950s building previously occupied by Liverpool Media Academy, the proposed scheme would comprise three linked buildings of between five and eight storeys containing 190 hotel rooms.
