TOWN OF CAMPBELL, Wis. (WKBT) Relief can’t come fast enough for dozens of Town of Campbell families whose well water isn’t safe to drink. The contamination came from the La Crosse Regional Airport.
La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat was supposed to release the city’s proposal to bring those families clean water on January 28, ahead of a board of public works meeting, but that didn’t happen.

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) The city of La Crosse and affordable housing developer Impact Seven are being recognized by a national group for the work done on the Garden Terrace apartment complex on Kane Street.
The project was selected by the National Community Development Association as the winner of the 2021 Audrey Nelson Award, which recognizes outstanding community development projects and programs across the country.
“The Garden Terrace apartments and community center is a phenomenal example of a multi-year and multi-partner endeavor, resulting in a new development out of the floodplain, new affordable housing including units set aside for homeless veterans, and a community center in conjunction with The Hunger Task Force and Kane Street gardens.
