My first address as a baby was one of those prefabs, on the south side of White Hart Lane in the map above. My mum loved the prefab and always said what a great design it was. The Wonderloaf bakery on the map is noted as the Wonder Bakery, perhaps that was it s original name. In the photograph, Alexandra Palace and St.Michaels church spire can be seen in the distance. Are the corrugated structures in the back gardens Anderson Shelters?

A view through the empty shop window of a branch of J Sainsbury on High Road, Wood Green, London. A sign in the window welcomes customers, both old and new, despite the shortages. Through the door can be seen two customers doing their shopping. Comment by Renato B on February 7, 2013 at 23:12
I remember my mother and I going into this J Sainsbury shop buying butter in the late 50 s. Comment by Roy aka Smiffy on September 29, 2014 at 16:42
I remember this shop well. My mum liked Sainsbury s because the service was better than some of the other shops - bless her, she was a bit of a snob!
