CARTHAGE, N.Y. (WWNY) - It was a rare Wednesday afternoon high school football contest in Carthage as the Comets hosted the General Brown Lions.
The Comets strike on their first possession when Josh Demko calls his own number on the keeper and goes 8 yards for the touchdown. Now it’s 6-0 Comets
Still in the first, the Comets expand on their lead. It’s Demko again on the keeper, this time going 20 yards for the score 14-0 Carthage.
General Brown looks for improvement on the gridiron

DEXTER, N.Y. (WWNY) - Itâs a light week in local sports because of spring vacation for area schools.
One team thatâs in action this week is General Brown football.
The Lions are currently 1-1 on the season.
General Brown lost its first game to Vernon Verona Sherrill 20-0 before beating Cato-Meridian this past Saturday 41-7.
The Lions certainly showed improvement in that last game.
The Lions will be tested in their next game, a meeting with the Comets in Carthage Wednesday with kickoff set for high noon.
