Even in the unrelenting rain on Sunday, University of Oregon alumnus Zach Foushee had more fun playing golf than he has in a long time.
Foushee turned professional in 2017 after helping the Ducks to a NCAA Championship in 2016. It was a grueling few years trying to make it as a professional golfer. At the 64th annual Royal Oaks Invitational Tournament in Vancouver this week, Foushee returned to his amateur roots.
In his first amateur event in five years, Foushee torched a soggy Royal Oaks Country Club for a tournament-record 12-under to beat the field by 10 strokes.

BANDON, Ore. – Oregon battled through a more difficult scoring day in round two of the Bandon Dunes Championship at Bandon Trails to shoot 5 over and remain in third place going into the final round. Nate Stember continues to lead the way for the Ducks, as he sits just two shots off the lead in a tie for second place individually.
How It Happened: Yuki Moriyama turned in the low round of the day for the Ducks, shooting a 1-under 70 to move into a tie for 12th place at 1 under overall. The freshman had a stellar round going through 14 holes, sitting at 3 under on the day as he got to the par-4 13th. He would bogey that hole followed by another at 15 but was still the only Duck to shoot under par in the second round.
