During the first week of vaccinations in the United States, more than 2,000 Delawareans were inoculated against COVID-19, state officials announced Saturday.
The shots went to health care workers at hospital systems and nursing homes around the state, including ChristianaCare here in the Newark area.
âWe are so grateful to the health care community for embracing the arrival of this vaccine,â Delaware Division of Public Health Director Dr. Karyl Rattay said. âYou are leading the way and demonstrating the importance of taking the vaccine to your friends, family and patients.â
To be effective, the vaccine requires two doses spaced three or four weeks apart, depending on the brand. The same brand of vaccine must be administered for both doses.
