Excitement Across The County As Underage Stars Return To Training

This week saw the return of underage players across every discipline return to training after the latest easing of Covid-19 restrictions.
Among them were the young stars in West Clare who are keeping the tradition of hurling and camogie alive in the heartland of football country.
With stalwarts like Mick O’Neill and Paddy McDonnell having been central to the revival of the small ball game in the seaside town of Kilkee, the Kilkee-Bealaha hurling and camogie club has grown from strength to strength over the last number of years.

A midlands man is planning to swim the length of Lough Ree during May.
Cloghan native Paddy McDonnell has said that despite everything that s going on at the moment it s still important to dream and to plan. With everything that s going on at the moment it s hard to keep focused, he remarked. Normally at this time of the year a lot of people are planning what events they are going to do; but now for obvious reasons there is a lot of uncertainty about what events will go ahead.
