City council has awarded a new five-year parking enforcement and security contract to Neptune Security Services Inc.
Council approved the contract at its meeting May 18.

Neptune scored the highest out of 11 bids, seven of which were noted as not meeting the city’s minimum mandatory requirements.
The contract is for foot patrols in the downtown, as well as enforcement of parking and bylaws in all areas of the city.
Two enforcement officers would conduct foot patrols and one supervisor would be responsible for mobile patrols.
