Friedrich aiming for double bobsleigh gold at IBSF World Cup in St Moritz Thursday, 14 January 2021
Germany s Francesco Friedrich will look to continue a strong run of form in the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup with the two-man and four-man bobsleigh events set for St Moritz in Switzerland this weekend.
Events start tomorrow and are due to end on Sunday (January 17).
Friedrich and his respective push athletes Alexander Schüller and Thorsten Margis, have won eight of the nine two-man events this season, the other won by Friedrich s closest rival this season - his compatriot, Johannes Lochner.
Other contenders for the event include Switzerland s Michael Vogt and Latvia s Oskars Ķibermanis, the latter winning silver on three occasions so far this season.
Tretiakov wins European Championship skeleton title for first time since 2007 Friday, 8 January 2021
Alexander Tretiakov claimed his first European title since 2007 as the Russian star ended Martins Dukurs domination of the event in Winterberg.
The European Championship was held as part of the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup series.
Dukurs headed into the event as favourite, with the Latvian star having won all European Championship titles since 2010 and the opening four World Cup races of the season.
Dukurs could only place third in the opening run of the competition by clocking 56.46 seconds, 0.18 seconds adrift of the leader Tretiakov, who clocked 56.28.
