LAHORE: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Noorul Haq Qadri Saturday said nothing was democratic in the PDM and they were just attempting to create unrest in the country.
He was referring to the anti-government drive of the opposition parties’ alliance, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
Addressing a gathering, organised by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Ulema Wing in Samanabad area here, he said the government would never allow derailing of the system. He said conspiracies against Pakistan Army start from New Delhi and reach here via London. He said the Pakistan Army had always played a key role in prosperity, peace and development of the country. He regretted that the opposition, under the banner of PDM, was running a campaign against a prestigious institution of the country.

40 BNP men sued for threatening to oust govt’ UNB, Chattogram UNB, Chattogram
A case was filed against 40 leaders and activists of BNP for threatening to oust government through an armed movement.
AKM Shamsuzzaman Chowdhury, president of Patiya upazila unit Awami League, filed the case at Patiya Police Station on Saturday midnight, said Officer-in-Charge Rezaul Karim Majumdar.
BNP leaders Enamul Haque Enam, Khorshed Alam, Mafzal Ahmed, Khalilur Rahman Babu, Abdul Monaf, Nurul Absar, Tariqul Islam, and Mohammad Yusuf were among the accused.
According to the case statement, Enam was elected convener of the Patiya upazila unit of BNP. During a views exchange meeting with the leaders and activists of BNP, Jubo Dal, Chhatra Dal, he made some provocative remarks, calling for ousting government and urging activists to be prepared with firearms and sticks .

ISLAMABAD: Hajj this year might be more expensive if the Saudi government allowed it owing to the COVID-19, said Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri.
Talking to this correspondent, he said keeping in view the high cost of the Haj, the government could invite private operators for this year’s operations.
He said the Saudi government hadn’t informed any country whether it will allow pilgrims this year or not. However, Pakistan’s Haj Directorate in Jeddah is in regular contact with the Saudi Hajj Secretariat.
“We have officially written to the Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination for provision of COVID Vaccine for pilgrims. The ministry is planning to procure vaccines for the healthcare personnel initially from China. We have requested the ministry to put the pilgrims in the priority category too. If the Saudi government allows in pilgrims this year, then we will vaccinate them before their departure
