Noosa Gaff Rig Regatta 2019 © Phil Atkins Moonlight s first sailing race took place at the Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club, on the Noosa River. The inaugural Noosa Gaff Rig Regatta had a small fleet, ranging from a 23 ft. Pilot Cutter, to Moonlight, a 12 ft. Gunter rigged clinker or lap strake dinghy. This was the first race for Moonlight and her crew who were normally accustomed to leisurely cruising. The Noosa River is situated at Noosa, North of the Sunshine Coast in South East Queensland. After a week of wet and windy weather, race day delivered blue skies, and light winds. Noosa is just a half hour drive from our home on the Sunshine Coast. We launched at around 9 am, rigged the boat at Tewantin on the Noosa Estuary, and motored downstream to the banks of the River in front of the Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club.

Acting Sergeant Sandy Atkinson said the stolen scooter is a 2013 Sang Yang Industries Jet 4R 50 with Queensland registration 225JI similar to the one pictured. It was taken last Thursday This is similar make and colour to the moped taken from outside the Noosa Yacht and Rowing Club. Act Sgt Atkinson encouraged anyone who may have seen the moped to contact Queensland Police Service’s online suspicious activity form 24hrs per day at police.qld.gov.au/reporting using this reference number: QP2100046205.
