The Hmong Institute is hosting a COVID-19 vaccination center to provide easy access to the shot for Hmong and Southeast Asians. Since the start, the pandemic has brought to light the healthcare disparities and inequities people of color experience. Now, challenges are showing up in vaccine administration. “We recognize that the COVID-19 pandemic has really had an impact on our community. Health disparities were amplified because of that,” according to Peng Her, CEO of The Hmong Institute. “We want to do our part and make sure everyone is vaccinated, really our Hmong and Southeast Asian community members.”
