GatewayRail Flags off Dedicated Round-trip Export Train for Amul from Ahmedabad

Gateway Rail Freight Ltd. (GatewayRail), a subsidiary of Gateway Distriparks Limited, flagged off its first dedicated round-trip export Service between ICD Viramgam and Nhava Sheva Port for India s dairy giant, Amul - Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF).
The exporters in the Ahmedabad region have been facing a lot of difficulty due to the ongoing crisis of shortage of shipping line containers. To address this issue, Gateway Rail Freight Limited decided to provide dedicated round trip services between ICD Viramgam and various ports which brings in empty containers in to the Ahmedabad region in the inward direction, and carries export laden containers to various ports in the outward direction.

Vadodara: The Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) that markets the brand Amul, was under pressure to pay a good price to Gujarat farmers following a glut of liquid milk during the pandemic over the past year. However, the export orders for skimmed milk powder (SMP) the dairy giant received over the past two months, will allow GCMMF continue paying a better price to its members.
On Friday, a train fully loaded with Amul milk powder chugged off from the inland container depot (ICD), Viramgam to reach the country’s largest container port the Nhava Sheva Port also known as the Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNP) in Maharashtra.
CMA CGM India introduces the Python train service on Western Dedicated Freight Corridor
The CMA CGM Group, a world leader in shipping and logistics, is pleased to announce the launch of CMA CGM – GatewayRail PYTHON Train Service on February 1st, 2021 on Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) from New Kishangarh Junction, Rajasthan.
The two Double stack ‘Ship to Rail’ dedicated trains, one leaving from Mundra and the other from Pipavav, were clubbed at New Kishangarh Junction for the onward journey on the WDFC to New Ateli Junction and were split from there for GatewayRail’s Inland Container Depot – Gurugram (Garhi Harsaru)
First ‘Python’ container train service on DFC to be flagged off on Monday

‘Python train’ service clubs two double-stack container trains, each carrying 180 containers, and pulled by three locomotives.
Gateway Rail Freight Ltd will flag off the first so-called ‘Python’ container train service on a recently opened section of Western dedicated freight corridor on Monday carrying 360 containers of French shipping Line CMA CGM S A.
‘Python train’ service clubs two double-stack container trains, each carrying 180 containers, and pulled by three locomotives.
Sachin Bhanushali, chief executive officer and whole-time director, Gateway Rail Freight Ltd, told BusinessLine that two double-stack container trains arriving from Mundra port and Pipavav port carrying import containers of CMA CGM will be put together at New Kishangarh (Madar Jn) in Rajasthan and hauled over 306 km to New Ateli (Rewari in Haryana).
