Gateway Distriparks (GDL) had announced an amalgamation scheme between GDL and its subsidiaries Gateway Rail Freight and Gateway East India in September 2020.
Now, both NSE and BSE have conveyed their No-objection on 12 March, 2021 enabling the Company to go ahead with filing of the draft scheme with the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT).
The Company, Gateway Rail Freight and Gateway East India have filed the Joint Company Application in relation to the Scheme with NCLT on 14 March, 2021 to begin the next step of the process.
The merged entity will have 4 rail-linked inland container depots for EXIM business, a domestic rail terminal in Navi Mumbai, 6 container freight stations spread across the country, and a combined fleet strength of 31 train sets and over 500 road trailers. In addition, the combined cash flows will enable the merged entity to accelerate debt reduction while at the same time allowing it to continue upon its expansion plans to build a wider network of rail

GatewayRail Flags off Dedicated Round-trip Export Train for Amul from Ahmedabad

Gateway Rail Freight Ltd. (GatewayRail), a subsidiary of Gateway Distriparks Limited, flagged off its first dedicated round-trip export Service between ICD Viramgam and Nhava Sheva Port for India s dairy giant, Amul - Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF).
The exporters in the Ahmedabad region have been facing a lot of difficulty due to the ongoing crisis of shortage of shipping line containers. To address this issue, Gateway Rail Freight Limited decided to provide dedicated round trip services between ICD Viramgam and various ports which brings in empty containers in to the Ahmedabad region in the inward direction, and carries export laden containers to various ports in the outward direction.

Feels running private passenger trains a risky proposition; eyes business from freight corridor
Gateway Distriparks Limited (GDL), a private container train operator is open to bid for a stake in Container Corporation of India’s (Concor) strategic divestment.
However, GDL which has been shortlisted for running private passenger trains, will not bid for the private passenger train project of Railways. This was told to
BusinessLine by Prem Kishan Dass Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director, GDL, who started as a newsprint importer.
GDL, with three container handling depots along the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, will get “maximum advantage” as more sections of the dedicated freight corridor get operationalised, said Dass Gupta. His company has already run multiple double stack trains on the and some have achieved high speeds of 95 kmph.
