New Delhi: Leading India players, including Jemimah Rodrigues, Veda Krishnamurthy and Deepti Sharma, will be taking part in a club T20 tournament in Bengaluru from Monday even as uncertainty continues over the team’s next international assignment amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Indian team has not played since the T20 World Cup in March and there is no clarity over its next fixture with the Australia tour, scheduled to be held later this month, postponed to 2022. There is also no final word yet on the women’s domestic season.

In its September 1 verdict, the high court had quashed khan s detention under the NSA and ordered his immediate release, saying his speech at the AMU didn t promote hatred or violence and gave a call for national integrity.

Khan had been held at Mathura jail for seven months after he delivered a speech during the protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act at Aligarh Muslim University which the government deemed provocative . The high court had, while allowing his release, observed that his speech does not disclose any effort to promote hatred or violence . It, instead, gives a call for national integrity and unity… (and) deprecates any kind of violence .

New Delhi, Dec 17: The Supreme Court on Thursday refused to interfere with the Allahabad High Court verdict which had quashed the detention of Dr Kafeel Khan under the National Security Act (NSA) and ordered his immediate release.
A bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde, which was hearing the Uttar Pradesh government’s plea challenging the high court’s September 1 verdict, said it is “a good judgement”.
“We will not interfere in the judgement. However, the observation will not impact any other proceedings,” said the bench, also comprising justices A S Bopanna and V Ramasubramanian.
