Ipswich Town Women’s fairytale FA Cup journey came to an end at the hands of cup holders and WSL leaders Manchester City, as they suffered a 10-0 loss at the Academy Stadium.
Despite a spirited display from Joe Sheehan’s young side, hat-tricks from Pauline Bremer, Georgia Stanway and Jess Park hat-trick and a Laura Coombs strike condemned the Tractor Girls to defeat against their fully professional opponents.
Town had already won six matches to progress to this stage of the competition, following wins over Royston Town, Norwich, AFC Basildon, Chichester, Portsmouth and Huddersfield.

Ipswich Town Women’s fairytale FA Cup journey continued as they beat Huddersfield Town of the division above 4-1 away to reach the fifth round for the first time in the club s history.
A first-half hat-trick from 16-year-old striker Maddie Biggs and a Natasha Thomas strike proved decisive as the Tractor Girls produced an electrifying display in the opening 45 minutes.
The hosts pulled one back early in the second half through top scorer Lucy Sowerby, but Town saw the game out to record their third FA Cup giant killing of the season, making them the first side from the fourth tier to reach the last 16 in the history of the women’s competition.

Ipswich Town Women host AFC Basildon in FAWNL Division One South East at the Goldstar Ground, Felixstowe on Sunday afternoon (KO 2pm).
The Tractor Girls, who beat Basildon 5-0 in the Women’s FA Cup last month, are currently four points ahead at the top of the table with AFC Wimbledon now second with Billericay, who weren’t in league action last week, down to third, level with fourth-placed Leyton Orient with both clubs having a game in hand on the top two sides.
“I think they’re a team which will know what to expect,” manager Joe Sheehan said of Basildon.
