When Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar called on Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on May 27 at his official residence in Mumbai, a big political storm was around the corner. The octogenarian Pawar had recently recovered from health complications from his post-cancer treatment. However, that did not deter an upset Thackeray from issuing a veiled warning. “I alone am not responsible to run the government. I expect cooperation from the NCP ministers,” Thackeray reportedly told Pawar, who is known as the architect of the ruling Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi (MVA).
Speaking at the Raigad fort after paying homage to Shivaji Maharaj on the anniversary of his coronation as "Chhatrapati" in 1674, Sambhajiraje, a descendant of the Maratha king, said a protest morcha will be taken out from the samadhi of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj in Kolhapur.
