COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. â One suspect was injured after a police shooting on Interstate 25 Monday.
Around 7:40 p.m. Monday, the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) said it was investigating a police shooting around Interstate 25 and North Academy. CSPD wasn t involved in the shooting, but was investigating as an outside agency.
According to their preliminary investigation, Colorado State Patrol attempted to stop a vehicle that was connected to a robbery investigation in Pueblo. The driver fled and CSP pursued the vehicle northbound on I-25. At this point, the Fountain Police Department joined the pursuit, CSPD said.
An adult male was shot at least once by a Fountain police officer Monday evening on Interstate 25 near North Academy Boulevard in Colorado Springs following a pursuit that began in Pueblo, authorities said.
The Colorado Highway Patrol was attempting to stop a vehicle believed to be involved in a robbery investigation. The suspect failed to stop and the highway patrol pursued him northbound on the interstate. An officer with the Fountain Police Department joined the pursuit as the suspect passed Fountain, according to a press release from the Colorado Springs Police Department.
State troopers deployed stop sticks on I-25 near Garden of the Gods Road with limited success. A state trooper vehicle hit and disabled the fleeing vehicle on I-25 about a quarter mile south of North Academy Boulevard about 5:20 p.m. The suspect s vehicle stopped on the interstate, which was then closed down. As of 11:30 p.m., northbound I-25 remained closed between Woodmen Road and North Academy Boulevard.

Man found dead in Fountain Creek Sunday, police investigating
FOUNTAIN, Colo. (KRDO) The Fountain Police Department is investigating, after a body was found in Fountain Creek Sunday.
Officers received a call around 2:30 p.m. from a person who located the man s body, just north of Duckwood Park.
When the department s investigation division and coroner s office arrived, they found no obvious signs of trauma.
Additional details are pending the results of an autopsy and identification of the male victim.

Late Saturday, two teenagers died after they were hit by a driver while crossing the road at Mesa Ridge Parkway and Fountain Mesa Road.

Late Saturday, two teenagers died after they were hit by a driver while crossing the road at Mesa Ridge Parkway and Fountain Mesa Road. around 11 p.m.
According to police, the victims were in a crosswalk, but against a green light. One teen died at the scene, the other later died at the hospital.
The drive stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
