A Connecticut federal judge has freed an insurance unit of The Hartford from having to pay for a New York hospitality group's pandemic-related losses, holding that the group's losses from government closure orders do not trigger the policy's civil authority coverage.

The Regina Catholic School Division said one case had been confirmed at each of St. Augustine Community School and St. Catherine Community School. “We are working closely with Public Health staff to ensure necessary measures are in place to protect all students,” the division said in a media release. “We remind everyone entering schools to monitor for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.” As well, Regina Public Schools reported a case at Judge Bryant School. The schools remain open. Cases have been reported at 11 Regina schools since students in the city’s two largest school divisions returned to class May 3 after more than a month or online instruction.

We noted back in September how WWE scored a major court victory when a federal appeals court dismissed a lawsuit filed against WWE by more than 50 former talents, most of them stars from the 1980s and the 1990s. The wrestlers claimed that WWE failed to protect them from the repeated head injuries, including concussions that led to long-term brain damage. However, the 2nd US Circuit Court of Appeals in New York City agreed with a federal judge in Hartford, Connecticut, US District Judge Vanessa Bryant, who dismissed the lawsuits two years ago, saying many of the claims were frivolous or filed after the statute of limitations expired.
