FOND DU LAC - A civil rights lawsuit filed against the Fond du Lac School District in December 2019 by a former high school principal has been extended to allow for more time, given difficulties associated with scheduling last year.
Michelle Hagen, former principal at both Fond du Lac High School and Roberts Elementary, contends in her lawsuit filed in Wisconsin Eastern District Federal Court that the school district discriminated against her because of her gender and deprived her of employment opportunities that adversely affected her status as an employee, court records state.
The school district also discriminated against Hagen, who was then 54 years old, on the basis of age, according to the lawsuit, by replacing her in the high school principal position with a male more than 10 years younger than her.
