Jared Wayne Barker, 32, Minot, is charged in district court in Minot with stealing a vehicle and deliberately running over a woman he had been arguing with early Tuesday morning and injuring her.
He is charged with Class A felony attempted murder, Class B felony attempted theft, and Class C felony domestic violence causing serious bodily injury early Tuesday.
According to a probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Barker took her keys and the woman followed him and said she would call the police and have him charged with theft if he drove off in her vehicle. Barker turned the vehicle around and drove towards her. He struck her with the front passenger side of the vehicle. The woman fell to the ground and Barker drove over her right leg with the rear passenger tire and seriously injured her. Kyran Martin Johnson, 24, Minot, is accused of strangling a male store clerk on Jan. 30 when the clerk refused to sell a woman cigarettes because she had an expired driver’s license and of interfering with two attempts to call 911.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed with the court, Johnson also allegedly threatened to kill the store clerk, ripped a screen monitor off the clerk’s table and knocked multiple display shelves onto the floor. Several other people in the store tried to pull Johnson off the clerk, who was on the floor and was not fighting back, and Johnson then left the store prior to the arrival of police.
