Malema unhappy with Concourt s delay in delivering state capture inquiry vs Zuma ruling

Malema unhappy with Concourt’s delay in delivering state capture inquiry vs Zuma ruling Share EFF leader Julius Malema has expressed his concerns about the Constitutional Court’s delay in delivering its ruling in the matter between state capture inquiry and former president Jacob Zuma. Malema, addressing the media in Johannesburg on Thursday, told journalists he had a problem with the time it has taken the apex court to deliver its ruling in the commission of inquiry into state capture’s bid to have Zuma jailed for two years for snubbing subpoenas to give evidence. “The only problem I have is with the Constitutional Court, (commission chairperson Deputy Chief Justice Raymond) Zondo ran and went to the Constitutional Court and said he has an urgent application on Zuma’s appearance before the commission. It was an urgent application until today it has not given its pronouncement on an urgent application,” Malema said.

JSC s approval ratings remain in good health for transparency

According to court papers filed by the Council for the Advancement of the SA Constitution (Casac), the short listing of five candidates sent by the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) to President Cyril Ramaphosa for his consideration must be set aside because the interviews were controversial for their openly political content.

LATEST: High Court Reserves Judgment On Malaba Contempt Of Court Charges

By Costa Nkomo TWO High Court judges Thursday reserved to next week their judgment in an urgent application filed last week by the Human Rights NGO Forum demanding the imprisonment of Luke Malaba of being contempt of court charges. The application was filed by the NGO Forum after Malaba, whose five-year extension as the chief justice was ruled to be unconstitutional last month, defied the High Court order, and has continued reporting for duty at the Constitutional Court. Thursday’s High Court bench constituted two judges, Justices Amy Tsanga and Sylvia Chirawu-Mugomba. This was after Justice Webster Chinamhora recused himself from hearing the matter.
