Judge Dorothy Degabrielle has reserved her ruling to 10am tomorrow on the defenseâs plea to have the judge recuse herself from Thom Mpinganjiraâs judgeâs bribery case.
After the case resumed this morning, Patrice Nkhono, a lawyer representing the business mogul asked the Judge presiding the case to recuse herself as he she is being accused of improprieties.
Nkhono alleged that there were certain offers which were made to Mpinganjira with a view to achieve favorable sentence for him.
Nkhono claimed that the defense has evidence inform of text messages and recordings of phone calls which have been transcribed.

Malawi Supreme Court of Appeal judge Healy Potani is being investigated for allegedly assaulting a Police Mobile Service officer assigned to provide security at his residence in Chinyonga, Blantyre, national police spokesperson James Kadadzera has confirmed.
Potani: Probed over alleged assault
Kadadzera said Sargent Emmanuel Sinda, stationed at Police Mobile Service B Division at Kanjedza in Blantyre and was on duty at Justice Potani’s house, complained that he was assaulted by the judge.
“The matter has come to the attention of police management and follow up is being made,” said Kadadzera.
“Proper measures will be taken,” he added.
