FOREFRONT: David Kirby was a trailblazing fencing coach who helped dozens of athletes towards national and international glory TRIBUTES have been paid to local fencing legend David Kirby, who has died from Covid. The 70-year-old former army Major, who lived just outside Evesham, was head of coach development at Shakespeare’s Swords, the renowned fencing club he established at King Edward’s School, Stratford over 30 years ago. Credited for introducing fencing to thousands of youngsters over four decades of coaching, he was regarded as one of the leading lights in modern fencing. He coached dozens to national and international glory – including local double Olympian Louise Bond Williams.

Chairman and chief executive, Stuart Foulds, told AM that the business was driving ahead with the lessons learned from trading in H1, 2020, and had been able to maintain strong aftersales performance while achieving better than predicted success with LCVs during January.
Foulds said that car sales were running âat about 60% of where weâd normally beâ, but added: âFrom a commercial vehicle point-of-view we have been absolutely smashing it out of the park thanks to demand from people in the home delivery sector. Our order books are full.
Large parts of England and Wales are facing ice warnings, as temperatures will fall into minus figures overnight following prolonged periods of rain.

The mercury will drop as low as minus 6C overnight in England, with the potential for the mercury to fall to between minus 10C and minus 15C in parts of Scotland, according to Met Office forecaster Simon Partridge.
