Long Term Planning Committee Hears Update on Historic Preservation Design Guidelines By charguth May 28, 2021 6:52 am Saga Communications Spencer, IA (KICD)– It has been more than a year of work, but the process of coming up with some design guidelines to help perserve Spencer’s Downtown Historical District is nearing its end. The Long Term Planning Committee met Thursday evening to get an update on the project from Bergland and Cram and architectural firm from Mason City. Principal Kristy King tells KICD News the drafted plans will take city leaders, business and land owners along with community members through the process of properly preserving the historic beauty that is Downtown Spencer.
