BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. â Two people were killed in a head-on collision on U.S. 287 near Niwot Road in Boulder County Saturday morning.
Two vehicles â an Audi sedan and a Chevy pickup â were involved in the crash around 6:40 a.m. south of Longmont, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
The driver and only occupant of the Audi, a 23-year-old man, and the driver and sole occupant of the Chevy, a 68-year-old man, both suffered fatal injuries, troopers said.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4) – Highway 287 was closed for hours Saturday morning for a crash that killed two people. Colorado State Patrol and Boulder County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash near Niwot Road south of Longmont.
Southbound and northbound lanes were closed at around 7 a.m. between Niwot Road and Highway 52. Authorities re-opened the lanes at about 12:15 p.m.
Boulder County officials say one vehicle crossed into opposite lanes and crashed head on with another vehicle. Details about the vehicles were not released.
CSP says the drivers both died and were the only people inside the vehicles. They add one of the victims is a 68-year-old man. Details about the other driver were not yet released.
