MADISON, Wis. â Madison police responded Tuesday morning to a string of overnight burglaries involving unlocked doors and open garages.
All three of the burglaries happened on Madisonâs west side.
Authorities with the Madison Police Department said they first responded to the 9800 block of Shadow Wood Drive where a resident reported someone had entered their open garage and took their vehicle. The keys were inside the vehicle at time.
Another vehicle and valuables were taken from a residence in the 4200 block of Manitou Way overnight. The victim told police the suspects got into their home through an open garage door and unlocked house door.

Sugar Land woman shoots home invasion suspect

SUGAR LAND, Texas (KTRK) A burglary suspect was shot Friday as he tried to break in to a Sugar Land home, police said.
It happened around 5 a.m. in the 200 block of Shadow Wood Drive in the Sugar Mill neighborhood.
A woman was inside the home with her 8-year-old son and heard a noise downstairs, according to Sugar Land police. When she went to check on the noise, she saw a man trying to get into her home through a window, police said. The woman fired a gun once, hitting the suspect in the chest. He s been identified as 21-year-old Santana Hudson. He has a warrant out for his arrest with the Houston Police Department for burglary of a vehicle in 2018.

Shadow Wood Drive fatal fire under investigation Share Updated: 12:46 PM CST Dec 31, 2020 A 78-year-old man was killed in a house fire in Warren County, authorities said.The fire was reported about 9 a.m. Thursday at a home on Shadow Wood Drive, off Fisher Ferry Road, according to Sheriff Martin Pace. When firefighters arrived, the home was engulfed in flames, Pace said.Family members on the first floor of the home were able to escape, but a man who was on the second floor was unable to get out of the home, Pace said.
