PH Earth Day 2021: Commitment to protect the environment

Published April 22, 2021, 12:02 AM This year’s Earth Day celebration is marked by the Philippines’ first Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC), approved by President Duterte, which sets a 75-percent greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction and avoidance by 2030, to fulfill the country’s commitment to the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. Over the 2020-2030 decade, the country seeks to modernize by employing a low carbon and resilient development strategy in key sectors: Agriculture, waste, industry, transport and energy.  The baseline is the country’s projected cumulative economy-wide emission of 3,340.3 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent gases for the same period. ISU is extending their partnership with the city of Sullivan Indiana State University is extending a partnership with the city of Sullivan. This program matches community projects with students. ISU will extend its partnership with Sullivan until 20-22. The program partners with a city in Indiana each year. It s aimed at working on community-driven projects. During this academic year, 8-courses have been integrated with at least 15-projects. The students will help out with housing and neighborhood revitalization.

January 27, 2021 Indiana State University s Sustainable Cities Program, which matches community projects with experiential learning for students, is extending its partnership with the city of Sullivan, Indiana until 2022. Indiana State University is very pleased to be able to extend the Sustainable Cities partnership with the City of Sullivan, said Vice President for University Engagement Nancy Rogers.
