KUCHING, Apr 17 The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) will investigate the emergence of a new Covid-19 cluster and stern action will be taken should any evidence of negligence of complying with the standard operating procedures (SOP) is found, said Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
The SDMC chairman said they were looking into the Sri Aman prison cluster and another cluster involving some 100 students in a secondary school.

KUCHING: Civil servants in Sarawak are not allowed to hold physical meetings for two weeks from today following the escalating Covid-19 cases in the state.
A directive to that effect was issued by Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion through a circular letter to all the secretary of the state ministries, division residents, state department heads, heads of state statutory bodies and the secretary of all local government authorities in the state yesterday.
Jaul said the decision was made following an order by the State Disaster Management Committee (JBPN) last April 15.
“However, meetings through applications such as Zoom can be conducted,” he added.

The whole of Sarawak will remain under the conditional movement control order (MCO) until April 26, said Deputy Chief Minister Amar Douglas Uggah Embas.
