One league member brought up the point that Christian County Public Schools receives at least a quarter of funding per student for SEEK than some other smaller districts across the state.
Westerfield said he is curious to know how you can compare SEEK funding between two separate districts.

Lawmakers are back in Frankfort resuming the 2021 session of the Kentucky General Assembly and there is pressure on them to pass legislation to legalize historical racing machines that are at horse racing tracks across Kentucky, including in Oak Grove.
The Supreme Court last year ruled certain machines unconstitutional and declined to re-hear the case last month, resulting in machines shutting down at Red Mile in Lexington. Oak Grove Racing, Gaming and Hotel has kept its machines operational, saying the machines there are not the ones in question in the Supreme Court’s ruling.

A bill that requires abortion clinics to save babies that survive the procedure has become law in Kentucky after Democratic Governor Andy Beshear refused to veto it.
The new law, known as Senate Bill 9 and passed last week, requires a “physician performing an abortion” to “take all medically appropriate and reasonable steps to preserve the life and health of a born-alive infant.”
“Any born-alive infant, including one (1) born in the course of an abortion procedure, shall be treated as a legal person under the laws of this Commonwealth, with the same rights to medically appropriate and reasonable care and treatment. After birth, a birth certificate shall be issued and, if death occurs after birth, a death certificate shall be issued,” states the law.
