After years of struggle and effort, China has finally fulfilled its generational mission to eliminate absolute poverty. China Daily s foreign reporters Jocelyn Eikenburg and Matt Bossons traveled across the country to discover the stories behind people s efforts to overcome poverty.
In this video, Matt travels to South China s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region to find out how locals have overcome poverty through three things: river snails, rural homestays and tea. Meanwhile, he also has a chance to enjoy a delicious meal there known as Bai Jia Yan (which roughly translates to hundred family feast in English).
