Cherokee Nation s Saline Courthouse Museum in Rose
After years of ongoing work to restore, preserve and modernize the structure, the Cherokee Nation reopened the Saline Courthouse Museum last August. The last of nine district courthouses built in the 1800s by the Cherokee Nation, the Saline Courthouse features two galleries, a video presentation room, gift shop, public space and more.
One gallery showcases historical and cultural exhibits, while the other is dedicated to showcasing a different Cherokee artist every two months, with scheduled demonstrations available to the public.
The Saline Courthouse Museum is located at 55870 South 490 Road in Rose. It is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday.

[Melissa Coultas, ALPLM acting executive director] said the [Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library Foundation] has a “parasitic” relationship with the ALPLM, adding that the ALPLM has “faced delay or outright rejection from the foundation when we’ve requested simple information on fundraising efforts and basic finances that purport to support the ALPLM. … I have never experienced anything close to this level of stonewalling and hostility.”

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Downtown Branch of the Amarillo Public Library finished construction of their new MakerSpace, and staff plan to open the space to the public on June 1.
As the first phase of the project wraps up, staff are moving in equipment.
âMost of the construction is complete and we are in the phase now where we are equipping it with work benches, adjustable table tops and adjustable stools, [and] outlets at each station,â explained Stacy Clopton, public relations coordinator for Amarillo Public Library.
