The government of Ireland on Thursday announced undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships worth 12,00,000 Euros for Indian students.
It will host a virtual showcase (an education fair) on February 27 to bring together 20 of Ireland s top higher education institutions with prospective students from all across India and Sri Lanka.
Institute of Technology Carlow has awarded academic scholarships to 51 students for the academic year 2020/2021.
Now in its 17th year, the institutes s academic scholarship initiative awards an academic scholarship to first year students who have attained the highest entry points for their chosen programme of study at Institute of Technology Carlow.
The recipients were drawn from the Carlow and Wexford campuses and across the faculties of engineering, science, business and humanities.
The annual academic scholarship ceremony is one of the highlights of Institute of Technology Carlow s calendar; however, owing to the pandemic restrictions, this year s event was reimagined as a virtual ceremony.

Three Ireland is providing vital connectivity to school students across the country to enable their home schooling needs. By giving 10,000 All You Can Eat data SIM cards free to schools, Three is providing families with additional support to enable their child’s learning during the pandemic.
Unlimited data from Three will be available to primary and secondary schools and will be valid until the end of the school term in June. Schools can register between 4
th February and 5
th March by completing an online form at Three.ie.
The university row erupted after a long-running boundary dispute between Kilkenny and Waterford continues to fester.
Junior Health Minister Mary Butler, a Waterford-based TD, said Higher Education Minister Simon Harris had assured her that proposals of a Kilkenny base for TUSEI were mischievous and nothing more than kite-flying.
She said an application for the merger of WIT and ITC must be tabled by the end of April. Huge work is being done on the TUSEI project at the moment in terms of engagement with unions, advisory groups and politicians with a shared objective of having a university of international standing in the southeast,” she told WLRFM.

Stephen Foster, a second year brewing and distilling undergraduate at Institute of Technology Carlow, is the third recipient of the annual Walsh Whiskey €1,000 bursary.
The prize is awarded by Walsh Whiskey (producers of Writers’ Tears and The Irishman premium whiskeys) to the student with the highest first year grades in the Bachelor of Science in Brewing and Distilling course at Institute of Technology Carlow. The brewing and distilling programme at IT Carlow was the first of its kind in Ireland when initiated in 2017.
