According to the Federation of Retail Traders Welfare Association ( FRTWA), the shopkeepers are losing Rs 1,300 crore a day. There are 13 lakh shops in the state out of which around four lakh shops are in the city itself. “We have till now incurred losses to the tune of Rs 24,000 crore due to initial partial lockdown and later the complete lockdown since April 5,” said Viren Shah, President, FRTWA who is also the director of Roopam Stores at Crawford Market.
