Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack is an anime movie first released in Japan in 1988. The soundtrack for this movie was composed by Shigeaki Saegusa, who previously worked on
Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam and
Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ. In 1989 at the Japan Gold Disc Awards, it won Animation Album of the Year .
Char’s Counterattack also received a novel adaptation titled
Beltorchika’s Children, which featured Yoshiyuki Tomino’s original script for the movie. It also replaced the Nu Gundam and Sazabi mobile suits with Hi-Nu Gundam and Nightingale. A manga adaptation of
American manga publisher Denpa LLC announced that it will release an English-language adaptation of
Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchika’s Children. The news comes from Denpa’s official Twitter account, where the publisher answered a few questions from fans. The company will begin releasing the manga in Summer 2022.
Denpa confirmed that its publication of
Mobile Suit Gundam: Char’s Counterattack – Beltorchika’s Children will be paperback. The company cited high production costs of hardcover as a limitation. Additionally, Denpa said the seven-issue collection of manga will be available for purchase both online and in brick-and-mortar bookstores. However, the series will only be available in print and not in a digital format. Finally, Denpa answered that it will not release all seven issues all at once.
