1 5 tonnes of rubbish collected during litter pick around Wilton

Bags of rubbish 1.5 TONNES of rubbish has been collected during a litter pick around Wilton and Whiteparish. It comes as Wiltshire Council embark on a nine-week litter picking programme targeted at the A303 and A36. Pauline Church, Wiltshire Councillor for Wilton and Lower Wylye Valley, posted on Facebook to say that week six of the major routes litter pick saw the council team working on the A350 from Sedgehill to the border, then onto Wilton from A36 junction and Newton Lane to Moor Lane, Whiteparish. The crews collected 120 bags of litter which works out to around 1.5 Tonnes. The project began in March, and on the 5 mile stretch of road between Amesbury and Cholderton, Wiltshire Council collected 132 bags of litter and 17 tyres.

Marie Louise House Nursing Home, Romsey, reveals all residents have received their first coronavirus vaccine

RESIDENTS at a Romsey nursing home are one step closer to holding hands with their families again after they all received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, following an outbreak of the deadly bug. Marie Louise House Nursing Home, Newton Lane, announced 13 residents and 17 staff tested positive for Covid-19, according to a statement on their website from December 23. This forced the home to go into lockdown, meaning visits from family and friends have been suspended until further notice, unless there are exceptional circumstances. Residents and staff were not vaccinated on December 22 and 23 when Crosfield Hall, Broadwater Road, was transformed into an immunisation hub, due to there being limited stock available, the nursing home confirmed.
