Community testing underway in southwest Newfoundland, after Codroy Valley cases
On the heels of several cases of COVID-19 connected to a school in the Codroy Valley, Western Health is undertaking widespread testing to see if there has been any community spread.

To get a grip on whether there s been community transmission of COVID-19 in southwestern Newfoundland, Western Health is embarking on widespread testing of anyone living in the area that includes the Codroy Valley or Port aux Basques.
World-class skiing at finally opened Marble Mountain, but Avalon residents told to stay away
People who live on the Avalon, which remains in Alert Level 5, are urged not to come and ski.

After several false starts, Marble Mountain is open for the season an unusual one that is not only late starting but also sternly warns ski enthusiasts on Newfoundland s Avalon Peninsula to stay away.
People took to the slopes Thursday, with many remarking the conditions were great. I m so excited I barely slept last night, said Marble Mountain operations manager Richard Wells.

What began as a side project for Canadian journalist Daniel Dale soon ballooned into a full-time job, as he fact-checked former U.S. president Donald Trump often in real time and Trump s near-daily spreading of misinformation.
Now, with Trump s four-year term over, Dale reflects on some of Trump s most damaging and befuddling lies.
Dale went to Washington to cover analytical and human interest stories for the Toronto Star, where he was the paper s bureau chief for four years. He began fact-checking Trump as a side project. The president, he soon found, provided ample material to work with.
