1. Visitors to Ireland could face fines for failing to self-isolate
People arriving into Ireland could face fines and imprisonment if they don’t complete two weeks of self-isolation. That is one of a number of restrictions being considered by the cabinet who are also looking at extending Level 5 for a further 4 weeks. Meanwhile Gardai say they have fined members of exercise groups for breaching 5km rule.
2.Astra Zeneca shortages and vaccine scam alert
EU officials have called a second meeting with executives from AstraZeneca this evening after it said the pharmaceutical company had not provided ‘satisfactory’ answers on why it will not meet its vaccine delivery schedule. Meanwhile Gardaí, the HSE and the Department of Health are urging the public to be aware of potential scams relating to the Covid-19 vaccine.
