MANGALURU: There was joy and pleasant surprise on both sides as 16-year-old Rakeshkrishna interacted with PM Modi on Monday alongwith 31 other PM Rashtriya Bal Puraskar awardees. As the I PU student explained the working of his ‘Seedographer’, a multipurpose sowing machine, the PM thanked his parents for keeping their son connected to farming. “Modern agriculture is the need, and I am happy that at this age you are understanding the problems,” Modi told the boy, in a high-five moment.
Rakeshkrishna K, a PCME student at Expert Pre-University College in Valachil, said he comes from an agricultural family and is more than familiar with the problems farmers face. “I want to contribute to the welfare of farmers through science and innovation,” he said. “It has been a wonderful experience to interact with the PM. Unfortunately, due to Covid, it was conducted virtually. I hope to meet the PM soon.”
