The main investigator assigned to probe the police killing of three men in Second Caledonia, Morvant which occurred just over a year ago began tying up loose ends on Friday and questioned some of the officers who were on the scene that day.
Assistant Superintendent Wayne Abbott, of the Southwestern Division, who was only recently assigned the help of two other officers of the Special Intelligence Unit, met with at least eight officers at the Financial Investigations Bureau, Riverside Plaza, Port of Spain.

Two Queens brothers Abed Ahmad and Alaa Ahmad on Thursday pleaded guilty to bank fraud conspiracy and conspiracy to commit aggravated identity theft relating to a scheme to defraud JPMorgan Chase & Co. and its customers.
Abed Ahmad also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering and one count of aggravated identity theft.

April 29, 2021 Earlier today, in federal court in Brooklyn, Abed Ahmad and his brother Alaa Ahmad, pleaded guilty before United States District Judge Eric N. Vitaliano to bank fraud conspiracy and conspiracy to commit aggravated identity theft relating to a scheme to defraud JPMorgan Chase & Co. and its customers. Abed Ahmad also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit money laundering and one count of aggravated identity theft.

Police get orders to forfeit $.5m in seized cash

POLICE have received cash detention court orders to forfeit close to $.5 million, which will be deposited into an interest-bearing seized asset in accordance with the Proceeds of Crime Act.
In a release on Tuesday, the police said their Financial Investigations Bureau (FIB) received three orders to forfeit $426,078.95 in three cases.
In the first case, FIB officers seized cash – TT$308,620; US$3,692; £1,830; CAN$140; and $10 said to be from the Netherlands, from Chris Harry, of Nanan Road, Lower Aranguez, on March 24, 2016.
A magistrate approved a detention order for the police to continue their investigations into the origin of the cash.
