Nissan begins production of the all-new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder
NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The first all-new 2022 Nissan Pathfinder rolled off the assembly line today at the award-winning Nissan Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant in Tennessee. Start of production of the new Pathfinder marks another major milestone in our Nissan NEXT momentum story, says Jeff Younginer, vice president, Nissan Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant. The Smyrna plant team is thrilled to put the newest version of this iconic vehicle on the road for customers.
The all-new Pathfinder, alongside the upcoming all-new 2022 Nissan Frontier, gives Nissan one of the freshest lineups in the industry. Other new models that are part of the company’s new product introduction plan include the all-electric Ariya crossover and a production version of the Z Proto sports car.

The 2022 Nissan Pathfinder is officially in production at the Nissan Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant. The first model of the revamped Pathfinder rolled off the assembly line at the Tennessee plant this week. Since 2004, the Pathfinder has been produced at the Smyrna plant.

Smyrna Nissan Plant Produces 14 Millionth Vehicle

Nissan sees this as more than a landmark achievement it’s a symbol of the company’s dedication to investing in American manufacturing. Here’s a look at what it took to achieve this milestone.

The Smyrna plant is Nissan’s first U.S. assembly plant, and since 2014, it’s made a name for itself as North America’s highest-volume automobile assembly plant.
“Since the first vehicle, a white Nissan pickup truck, rolled off the line in 1983, 14 million high-quality vehicles have been assembled for customers in America and around the world,” Jeff Younginer, vice president of manufacturing at the Nissan Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant, stated in a press release.
