Bolton s small business export goods worth over £12million through Amazon

SMALL businesses in Bolton have exported more than £12million of goods through Amazon in 2020, a report has revealed. The 2021 Amazon UK SME Impact report revealed that more than 400 small and mid-size enterprises in the borough exported products last year, selling on Amazon. Valued at more than £12million, this was an increase of 66per cent from 2019. Across the UK small and mid-size businesses selling on Amazon have created 175,000 jobs and have recorded over £3.5billion in export sales in 2020. During the pandemic many businesses went online for the first time in order to adapt. Over 14,000 UK SMEs selling on Amazon surpassed £100,000 in sales, and over 1,000 reached £1 million in sales for the first time in 2020.

Bolton Amazon make a donation to Walking with the Wounded

A CHARITY supporting disadvantaged veterans has received a £1,000 donation from the Amazon team in Bolton. Walking with the Wounded is a UK-wide charity who help veterans reintegrate back into society and regain their independence. The money will be used to support veterans to get back into employment. A number of Walking With The Wounded service users have complex issues affecting their transition into civilian jobs. Nicolas Verdon, Site Leader at Amazon in Bolton, said:“The staff at Walking with the Wounded understand the needs of veterans and do a great job of finding a suitable career for them. We are particularly pleased to donate to this charity as it has provided support in the past to one of our Amazon associates here in Bolton.”

Amazon donation will help Bolton youth charity with remote learning

Bolton Impact Trust Youth Challenge is a school for pupils who require non-traditional learning environments. The organisation provides a personalised learning programme that pupils can attend either, full or part time basis. The donation will be used to purchase technology which children can use to complete their schoolwork when learning remotely. Nicolas Verdon, Site Leader at Amazon in Bolton, said:“The staff at Bolton Impact Trust ensure all children have the resources and mentors required for a good education. We are pleased to support the team’s efforts with this donation and hope it helps them continue their great work.”
