BRIDGEPORT A local man awaiting trial for allegedly assaulting a pregnant woman in Milford was back in custody Wednesday after police said he forced his way into another woman’s home, ripped her baby from her arms and then wrapped a plastic bag around the woman’s face.
Christopher Frank, 33, of Cowles Street, was charged with first-degree assault, third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation and risk of injury to a child.
During Frank’s arraignment Wednesday afternoon, Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Nicholas Bove urged Superior Court Judge Tracy Lee Dayton to set a high bond.

BRIDGEPORT A Milford man was in custody after police said he allegedly stole numerous bottles of sanitizing wipes from a Stratford supermarket and bit a store employee during a struggle in the parking lot.
Nicholas Goerig, 41, of Summit Avenue, Milford, was charged Monday with third-degree robbery, third-degree assault, first-degree reckless endangerment, breach of peace and sixth-degree larceny.
“This was more than your usual shoplifting case, he bit a store employee,” Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Nicholas Bove said during Goerig’s arraignment hearing Tuesday afternoon as Goerig watched on video from his cell in the courthouse lockup.
A Fairfield County man who was out on bond on assault charges was arrested again after threatening to shoot and kill everyone in a local restaurant, Bridgeport Police said.According to the Bridgeport police, Antonio Silva, 53, was arrest.

BRIDGEPORT A city man free on bond on assault charges was in custody Tuesday after police said he allegedly threatened to shoot everyone in a local restaurant.
Antonio Silva, 53, of Sampson Street, was charged with first-degree threatening, second-degree breach of peace and criminal trespass.
Silva watched on video from the courthouse basement lockup Tuesday morning as Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Nicholas Bove urged Superior Court Judge Tracy Lee Dayton to set a high bond for Silva because of the nature of the allegations.
