Nine-year-old killed after being struck by lightning named as Jordan Banks
A nine-year-old boy who died after apparently being struck by lightning on a football field in Blackpool has been named as Jordan Banks.
Police officers were called shortly after 5pm on Tuesday to fields near to School Road after reports a child had been injured.
Emergency services attended and the boy was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
It is believed the boy was struck by lightning, although inquiries are still ongoing.

A nine-year-old boy who was killed by a lightning strike has been named and pictured for the first time.
Jordan Banks was playing on a football field in Blackpool on Tuesday during a heavy storm when he was reportedly struck by lightning.
A huge emergency response was issued shortly after 5pm with several police vehicles and an air ambulance attending the scene off School Road, where a child was reported to have been injured.
